Donating to a Worthy Child Charity

Child Haven International is a registered charity that is supported entirely by contributions from generous-hearted friends. Donations to Child Haven are eligible for tax receipts in Canada, India and the USA.

In order to make sure that your donation goes to where it is needed most - to the homes for destitute children, Child Haven keeps administrative costs to an absolute mimimum.

A salary of $45,000 is shared by two directors, Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino.

In Canada we also have three part-time office staff. Indian, Bangladesh, Tibetan and Nepali staff in the homes are paid according to local wage scales. Our web site has been designed and set up by volunteers who generously donate their time.

Monthly Contributions
We are set up to do Direct Bank Withdrawals, for people who wish to contribute monthly. 65 families currently (2009) donate monthly by Direct Withdrawal from their accounts.

Donating Securities
We are also set up to receive gifts of securities. In some cases the donor receives a better tax advantage by transferring securities to Child Haven rather than cash.
