Kaliyampoondi Building Program Update
$5000 will pay for a room on our four-acre site just outside of Kaliyampoondi Village. This is our largest project, with 250 children living in eight rented houses. The total from our Rotarian friends is expected to top $100,000. We need to match this with another $100,000. At this point
well over half has been donated or pledged. Those who donate $5000 for a room will have a hexagonal plaque similar to the ones affixed at the main entrance of our Nepal Home in honor of a person of their choice - or with a few words of their choice. Some construction has already begun.
Latest email from Kaliyampoondi:
"Here is a sweet news for you, we found water with full of joy, at present our new well 19 feet depth only. We expected water only 19 feet depth only, we lucky got in 19 feet itself."
We wish to thank J. Denis Seguin and Dexton Bennett of URBANA ARCHITECTS for the preliminary plans they made (without charge) for our new Kaliyampoondi Home.
We also want to thank S. Ravichandran, Engineer, at the India Site for his work on the concept.
