GUEST POST – Greetings from Delhi

Robin Cappuccino is currently traveling to all of the Child Haven homes – here are some thoughts from road.

Here in the Delhi area, Child Haven is the primary funder of two projects we-co-sponsor with local groups. The Maitreya Children’s Home for Tibetan refugee children in New Delhi is home to 24 children and the MVP Women’s Project is located just outside Delhi in Ghaziabad. Continue reading

Saving lives – one stitch at a time

Recently Bonniema and group visited another project that Child Haven International supports – the women’s project Manav Vikas Parishad (MVP) in Ghaziabad, which is near New Delhi in India. It is a small NGO that helps local impoverished women with training, medical care, and child education. The Empowerment of Women

One of Child Havens goals is the upliftment and empowerment of women. We strive to do this in several different ways. We employ destitute and disabled women in our children’s homes as caretakers and helpers. Often these women also have their own children who need help too. Mother and child both come to Child Haven where they receive plenty of healthy food, a safe place to live, quality education (often for the first time) and a new family to grow up with.
